Meet Our Staff

Aldon Watkins, DVM

Dr. Watkins was raised in North Logan, UT. He attended local schools including Utah State University, where he did his undergraduate work. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University. He and his wife Michele enjoyed their time in Fort Collins, CO and look back at their college years with fondness.

Dr. Watkins cherishes the opportunity to work daily with animals and their owners and recognizes and appreciates the compassion that animal owners have for their pets and livestock. He loves to observe the relationships between owners and animals that make life better for both.

Aldon and Michele live in Avon where they are still raising their family and have recently discovered the joy of grandchildren. When time allows, the Watkins family enjoys hitching a team of horses and going for a ride.

Dana Clark, DVM

Dr. Clark was born in Pleasant Grove Utah. As a young man he worked for his uncle on a cattle ranch in Enterprise, Utah. Dr. Clark's father also raised Simmental cattle during his high school years. This exposure fueled his interest in veterinary medicine. Dr. Clark married his wife Suzanne Simmons, from Tremonton Utah in 1980. They are the parents of five children. One boy and four girls. All of his children are married.

Dr. Clark graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in veterinary medicine. Shortly after his graduation he established Lakeview Animal Hospital in Bountiful Utah. Dr. Clark operated this business from 1987 until 2014 when he and his partner sold the business to Veterinary Companies of America (VCA). After the sale of the business he worked there for two years.

Having always wanted to live in a more rural area Dr. Clark and his wife Suzanne purchased some property in Avon, Utah where they built a home. They love Cache Valley and have enjoyed meeting many wonderful individuals here. After moving to Cache Valley, Dr. Clark began his employment at Blacksmith Fork Veterinary Clinic in 2017.

Dr. Clark and his wife enjoy outdoor activities including backpacking and fishing. Dr. Clark has been an avid runner for the past 25 years. This year he will run the St. George Marathon for the 25th consecutive year.  After a long career as a veterinarian, he believes that choosing to be a veterinarian one is one of the best decisions he could have made.
